Day 12: Home Team

Feb 12th, 2021

Galatians 6.2

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Home Team

Everyone has a home team. The person you call when your tire is flat, the people you call when something terrible happens. Its the people who, near or far, know everything that wrong with you and love you anyways. These are the ones who get themselves a glass of water without asking when they're at your house. These are the people who cry when you cry - you're middle of the night no matter what people. The ones that pray without ceasing for a breakthrough.

It’s the knowledge of the relationship that leads to the giving of the heart.

We cannot love others unless we love ourselves, we cannot value others until we value ourselves. These people know our ins and out and they still love us. There could be a handful of people, or 2 or 3, that hear us, that hear our venting, whatever it is - we are grateful.

Take a few minutes, and send a text, a message, just a thank you, thank them for their love, their grace, their hope, their kick in the rear, tell them that you love how they make you laugh, and tell them what you see in Them.

Love others, cherish others, respect others. When we look past ourselves and bring it back to the basics of love, we are able to walk in goodness and joy everywhere we go.

Thought to ponder

Lets be grateful.

To Pray

God, thank you for my home team, for those that stood with me. For those who came in without knocking and sit with me on my floor, who pray, and carry me. Thank you for friendships that feel like siblings, and love that feels safe and hilarious and easy. Thank you for those who are just so easy. Amen!
