Proverbs 3.5-6
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Trust
It seems a lot easier to put our trust in the government, our family and relationships. However, at some point in our lives, when something bad happens or when we are disappointed with an outcome, we decide to never trust others but ourselves. This mindset only keeps us further away from trusting God. When things go wrong, or circumstances change, we are fearful, anxious or begin to harden our hearts. So why is it so hard for us to trust in God? As humans, we are impatient and don’t understand how to wait on God to answer our prayers. We jump ahead and try to do things on our own. Instead of doing this, we should work on putting God first in our lives. He wants us to put our confidence and trust in Him so that He can give us a way out from a difficult situation. Not only will he give us a way out but he can give us peace and promote us to higher positions that we would not be able to get to on our own. God did say He will answer us as long as we pray and believe that He is good and powerful. Building our trust in God will strengthen our mind and guide us through every obstacle and distraction in the way of God’s beautiful plan.
Thought to ponder
What area in our life do we need to trust in God more?
To Pray
Father God, please help me to trust in you. Teach me to have hope and faith in the plan and purpose You have for my life when things get hard. As I continue to trust in You, help me to walk in confidence and set goals in accordance with your will. Even when I don’t understand your plan, strengthen my heart to build an ongoing trust in You in all areas of my life, Amen.
