Day 5: Born Again

Feb 5th 2021

John 3.3.

Truly I tell you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God

Born Again

Born again. We hear this phrase get thrown around alot. What is being born again and how can someone achieve this? These are some of the thoughts that we may ponder about. Since birth we are all born in original sin. Generations of sins that go all the way back to the first man and woman: Adam and Eve. No matter how hard we all try, no one can be fully sinless except for one man. That one man is Jesus Christ. When we fully have faith in this and accept this, we then start our journey of turning away from out old selves and comes the birth of our new selves. This is a Holy transformation through turning to Christ through repentance and faith.

It is the work of God in our personal lives that causes this Holy transformation. This is being born again. Being born again is not the end, it is only the beginning. Because we are born in the flesh constantly deal with everyday temptation and sin because no man is good but God. We must leave our "elementary teachings in Christ (hebrews 6)" and strengthen our relationship with God.

One way for us to strengthen our faith and to better resistance temptation is through holy acts of prayer and fasting. When we pray and fast we are pleasing our Heavenly Father above and He blesses us with the strength to over come demons and the devil. Just look at what are Lord and Savior had to do to fight off the evils of evils. He went off to the wilderness and fasted for 40 days and forty nights. At his most vulnerable state or being hungry he was tempted by the devil. But with the Word of God and the strength from this fast he fought off all temptation from the devil.

Thought to ponder

What are new actions you are doing that is making you turn away from your old self? What are some of the things you are doing that is strengthening your relationship with God?

To Pray

Father, please give me the strength to constantly seek you in all my actions, to constantly seek ways to enhance my faith and relationship with you. In Jesus name, Amen
